crispy bajra nuggets

This is one of the most delicious experimental recipe which can be a Great tea time snack or starter ….


Nutrition fact :

Bajra is mainly made of starch, a high-energy food. It contains niacin, a vitamin that plays a crucial role in lowering cholesterol levels It is also a fairly good source of magnesium and potassium, minerals that play a role in regulating blood pressure  Bajra is rich in insoluble fibre that helps digestion and stool formation.

Ingredients :

For Nuggets :

  • 1cup bajra flour (roasted in butter)
  • 1 cup boiled grated potato
  • ½ cup roasted and grounded peanuts
  • 4-5 green chilly
  • 1-2 tbsp coriander powder
  • Salt to test
  • Butter milk for binding it into dough
  • Oil to deep fry


For the filling:

  • 1 cup mix vegetables , boiled and mashed (corn,green peas ) and graded carrot also you can add chopped onion 
  • ½ cup spinach finely chopped
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup boiled grated potato
  • 1 tbsp tomato souse
  • 1tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp dried mango powder
  • 1 tbsp green chilies (finely chopped)
  • 2-3 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Pinch of sugar powder
  • Salt to taste


Other  :

  • ½  cup corn flour better for coating
  • ½ cup bread crumbs for coating

Dough Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl add bajra, potato, peanut crush  and all spices (salt, coriander powder, green chilly finely chopped, red chilli flakes) and make a mixture for dough
  • Now add in little by little butter milk to bind it into thick dough


Filling Mixture
  • Roughly give one whizz to the corn in blender but make sure  that you don’t make a fine paste here and then add carrot ,   GreenPeas, onion ,finely chopped spinach , coriander leaves , green chillies, potato , mozzarella cheese, salt to taste , dried mango powder, Pinch of sugar powder, tomato sauce and mix well and keep aside
  • Now take a ball size portion of bajra dough and put a little filling in centre and bind well to shape into a ball …
  • Repeat the same with the remaining dough


Crust preparation &Deep Fry


  • Now deep this bolls into corn flour better and then bread crumbs for coating
  • Now in a deep frying pan add oil and deep fry these balls one at a time till golden on all side
  • Fry these balls in low medium flame for consistent.
  • Fry them till crispy and remove and serve with any dip of your choice or serve with         tomato sauce.
